台灣古蹟導覽　第五組臺南鹽水天主堂11 鹽水位於臺南縣，與嘉義縣相鄰，有大龜肉莊、大圭壁莊等稱。清雍正年間設鹽水港堡，因臨倒風內海，港內有鹹水而得名，又因地形略微彎曲，狀似新月，故稱之為「月津」、「月港」。日治時期，1920年前隸屬嘉義廳鹽水港支廳，分屬鹽水港區，管轄鹽水港堡內之鹽
